Chris Ferguson is a poker player from the United States that has a total of five won events at the World Series of Poker. One of them is the Main Event at the 2000 edition of the World Series, as well as the NBC Heads-up Event in 2008. He was accused in September 2011 by the United States Justice Department that he ran a Ponzi scheme through the Full Tilt Poker site, which resulted in $444 million in profits for him and the other owners of the firm, money taken from the customers.

He started learning how to play the game when he was just 10 years old and he kept playing. In college he made money by playing poker in chat rooms on IRC. His first tournaments were in California in 1994 and his first attendance at the World Series was in 1995. In 2000 he took home the first place at the Main Event and $1.5 million with it. Four years later, in 2004, he got to the 26^th place at the Main Event of the World Series. In the same year he helped launched Full Tilt Poker, an online poker website.

In 2005 he finished on the second place after Phil Hellmuth, at the National Heads-up Championship and he managed the same performance in 2006. In 2008 he managed to reach the finals once more and this time he won it and took home the title.

At the WSOP 2008 he managed to take home $667,905, considerably more than the $84,562 he won in 2007. By 2010 he had managed to win over $8 million in live tournaments. Out of these, over $4 million came from the 63 times he cashed in at the World Series. Thanks to this, he is third when it comes to players that cached in the most at the World Series, the first two being Hellmuth and Nguyen.
